Walter Angonese, professore di progettazione all'Accademia di architettura, terrà la sua lezione inaugurale giovedì 18 aprile alle 20.00, nell'Aula magna del campus di Mendrisio. Durante la lezione, inserita all'interno del ciclo di conferenze Finis Urbis?, il noto architetto altoatesino proporrà una chiave di lettura del suo lavoro e delle sue riflessioni disciplinari.

Nel progetto dell'EPFL anche un contributo dell'IRB

Il prof. Fabio Grassi e il suo gruppo di ricerca all'Istituto di ricerca in biomedicina, affiliato all'USI, hanno partecipato alla realizzazione da parte del Politecnico federale di Losanna (EPFL) di un nanosensore sottopelle che funziona come un vero laboratorio, monitorando l'organismo e trasmettendo i dati via bluetooth, con ricadute potenzialmente interessantissime nella personalizzazione delle terapie e nella prontezza di risposta ad attacchi cardiaci o ricadute di patologie croniche.

Giornate speciali USI-Liceo Lugano 2

Da oggi a mercoledì, 12 ragazzi del liceo luganese saranno accompagnati dai nostri professori e assistenti dentro la magia dell'informatica. Gli studenti saranno impegnati a gruppi in tre progetti: la simulazione di una galassia, la costruzione di un braccio robotico tridimensionale virtuale e l'implementazione di un Twitter potenziato. Mercoledì alle 15.00, in aula A32, si terrà la presentazione finale.

Arriva all'USI Refashion: so social, so fashion

Fino al 30 aprile nell'atrio dello stabile principale (campus di Lugano) sarà disponibile un simpatico box in cui depositare abiti e accessori puliti e in buone condizioni che non usiamo più. L'iniziativa è promossa dal team SostA: verso un ateneo sostenibile a supporto della sezione luganese della Croce Rossa e del suo programma Refashion, di cui beneficerà interamente la comunità locale.

Organizzato dall'Osservatorio sui media e le comunicazioni in Cina dell'USI, il ciclo d'incontri (in lingua inglese) vedrà quali relatori due autorevoli esperti dei media e dell'industria editoriale cinesi, il prof. Indagine sulla condizione economica e sociale degli studenti

Se siete studenti e siete tra il campione selezionato, nei giorni scorsi avete ricevuto (o riceverete nei prossimi) una comunicazione ufficiale in cui l'UST vi invita a contribuire all'indagine: si tratta di uno studio a livello nazionale, cui è importante partecipare per permettere ai dati di essere più estesi e dunque più affidabili e utili per decisioni di politica universitaria (ad esempio sulle borse di studio) che siano aderenti alla realtà. I dati saranno trattati in modo anonimo e confidenziale.

L'offerta è promossa dalla piattaforma fruitstore.ch, nata su iniziativa di un gruppo di studenti svizzeri. Attività all'aperto e una nuova promozione

Dalla vela alla mountain bike, dal kayak all'arrampicata fino al parapendio, tutte le possibilità sono consultabili sul sito del Servizio sport dell'USI, che ha da poco stipulato una nuova convenzione con Merida Bikes che permette agli studenti e ai collaboratori USI di ottenere sconti dal 20 al 50% su una nuova bicicletta.

Apero Speech con Marco Bazzi

L'incontro informale con il noto giornalista ticinese, fondatore di liberatv.ch, si terrà mercoledì 17 aprile alle 18.30 presso il circolo velico di Lugano. L'appuntamento, riservato ai soli laureati USI, è proposto dall'USI Alumni Association in collaborazione con il Servizio alumni, che si occupa di mantenere i rapporti tra l'Università e gli ex studenti.

Walter Angonese, professor of design at the Academy of Architecture, will hold his inaugural lecture on Thursday, 18 April at 8pm in the Aula Magna of Mendrisio Campus. The lecture is part of the series Finis Urbis? and during the encounter, the renown Architect from the Italian Region Alto Adige will offer an interpretation of his work and reflections on the discipline.

An IRB contribution to EPFL's Project

Prof. Fabio Grassi and his research group at USI's affiliated Institute for Research in Biomedicine, has participated in a study coordinated by the Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne that led to the development of a nanosensor that works under the skin like a real laboratory, monitoring the body, and sending data via Bluetooth. This technology will help personalise therapies based on individual responses to drugs, leading to more effective and timely treatments in case, for example, of heart attacks or relapse of chronic diseases.

Informatics Days USI-Liceo Lugano 2

From today to Wednesday, 12 students of the Lugano's High School will venture with our professors and assistants inside the magical world of informatics. The students will be working in groups on three projects: the simulation of a galaxy, the 3D design of a virtual robotic arm and the implementation of an enhanced Twitter. A final presentation will be held on Wednesday, at 3pm in room A32.

Refashion: so social, so fashion at USI

Until 30 April in the main building hall (Lugano Campus) a box will be available to anyone who wishes to donate clean clothes and accessories in good conditions. The initiative is promoted by team SostA: verso un ateneo sostenibile in support of the Red Cross Lugano session and its programme Refashion from which the entire local community will benefit.

Open Air activities and a new a Promotion

From sailing to mountain biking, from kayaking to climbing to paragliding, a list of all activities offered can be found at USI's Sport Service website. The service has recently signed a new agreement with Merida Bikes giving USI students and staff discounts from 20 to 50% on a new bike.

An informal encounter with renown Ticino journalist, founder of liberatv.ch will be held on Wednesday, 17 April at 6pm at the Circolo Velico Lugano. The Apero is for USI's Alumni only and is organised by the USI Alumni Association in cooperation with the Alumni Service, which is responsible for maintaining relations between the University and its Alumni.
