Gambi (PhD student of the Faculty of Informatics at USI) and Mario Bisignani (Master's new graduate) were awarded the prize for the project E-Con, an innovative solution designed to take advantage of the opportunities of the current developing technology called Cloud Computing. Congratulations also to Mauro Prevostini, Faculty of Informatics Program Manager, and Antonio Taddeo, Postdoc researcher at ALaRI, for the special mention received by the jury for the project PreDiVine; a bright example of how information technology can be applied to ecology. More Information. | | TOMORROW ON LUGANO CAMPUS | | Donating is bloody good USI is hosting a blood drive in cooperation with the Swiss Red Cross Blood Transfusion Centre. The appointment is for tomorrow, Tuesday, 11 December, from 11am to 6pm in the main building entrance. You are eligible to donate blood if you are in good health, weigh more than 50Kg and if you are
18 or older. All you have to do is show up at the welcome desk with a photo ID on a full stomach. The procedure
will last about 45 minutes. More Information. | | FACULTY OF ECONOMICS GRADUATION CEREMONY | | 189 new Graduates hailing from 30 different Countries During the ceremony held last week the Faculty awarded 76 Bachelor's degrees and 113 two-year Master's degrees. The ABT Prize established by the Ticino Bankers Association was awarded to Alessandro De Pietro, who achieved the highest average mark in the Bachelor's degree programme, and to Cecilia Aquila for best performance in the Master programme. The Piero Balestra Prize for quantitative subjects, a prize funded by BSI SA, was assigned to Luana Luchetti. Congratulations to all graduates! On Tuesday, 18 December at 6pm in the Auditorium of Lugano Campus, the Faculty of Communication Sciences in cooperation with the Dicastero Giovani ed Eventi of Lugano, will host an evening with the author, in which
he will introduce the genesis of his project, as well as the various strategies embraced for the stage adaptation of the text.
