Science? The German Professor Olaf Schenk received his PhD in computing from ETH Zurich. At USI his research work covers several fields from computational mathematics to high performance computing. He currently teaches computational

The Centre has been established under USI's Institute of Economics with the goal of promoting policy debate and scientific research on aging, pension and health care issues. The first lecture for the series Lessons in Architecture will be held on Thursday, 4 October at 8pm in the Aula Magna on Mendrisio campus by João Nunes; a landscape architect representative of a school of thought that focuses on landscape, the territory and sustainable planning. At the conference Science Comm'12 held last 28 September, USI's Ideatorio presented the results of a comprehensive survey, which shows that citizens support the idea of giving up nuclear power, but clearly
they do not perceive the repercussions and complexity of such choice. Many think that the energy gap that will come as a result could be easily compensated by wind and solar power overestimating the real supply of such resources.
