	ECCELLENZA ALLA FACOLTÀ DI INFORMATICA
	ERC Starting Grant per Michael Bronstein Si tratta di una prestigiosa borsa di studio che lo European Research Council assegna "ai più promettenti talenti della ricerca". Il professore, 32 anni, ha ottenuto 1,8 milioni di CHF che consentiranno di creare all'USI 5 posizioni per giovani ricercatori. 	SwissLeg tra i vincitori degli Startups.ch Awards 2012 La start-up di Roberto Agosta, Mohammad Ismail e del nostro prof. Paulo Gonçalves, direttore del Master in Humanitarian Logistics and Management, ha ottenuto 50'000 CHF che le permetteranno di sviluppare la propria idea imprenditoriale: produrre protesi gambarie di alta qualità a un prezzo accessibile anche nei paesi più poveri. 	START-UP E INNOVAZIONE
	Designergy vince il concorso "venture kick" La giovane azienda ticinese, la prima del cantone ad aggiudicarsi questo riconoscimento, è stata fondata dall'alumno USI Daniel Lepori ed è ospitata presso l'acceleratore d'impresa del nostro CP Start-up. I 130'000 CHF del premio, vinto ex aequo con la L.E.S.S. di Losanna, serviranno a sviluppare il progetto di un "tetto solare" che integra in un'unica entità copertura e pannelli. Per saperne di più.
	LABORATORIO STUDI MEDITERRANEI
	*Città del Mediterraneo, mito e/o realtà?* Organizzato in collaborazione con il Master in intercultural communication dell'USI, con l'Università di Bergamo e l'University of Colorado Boulder, il convegno aprirà i lavori giovedì 27 settembre presso il Monte Verità di Ascona e riunirà fino a sabato 29 oltre 30 studiosi provenienti da entrambe le sponde del "mare nostrum". 	Ad Antonella Anedda il premio Viareggio-Rèpaci 2012 La professoressa, che insegna letteratura dell'Otto e del Novecento presso l'Istituto di studi italiani (ISI), è stata premiata nella sezione poesia per il suo "Salva con nome", considerato una delle opere più significative della sua produzione, che annovera varie raccolte valse ad Antonella Anedda anche i premi Montale, Dedalus, Dessì e Napoli. 	GIOVANI MENTI AL CAMPUS DI LUGANO
	Il "fascino dell'informatica" è sempre di casa all'USI Dal 10 al 13 settembre, grazie alla collaborazione tra la Facoltà di scienze informatiche e la Fondazione Scienza e gioventù, tre studenti di scuola secondaria dal Ticino e tre dalla Svizzera tedesca hanno passato quattro giorni all'USI realizzando piccoli progetti su temi come lo sviluppo di app per smartphone, la progettazione di videogiochi tridimensionali e il potenziamento di siti internet. 	EXCELLENCE AT THE FACULTY OF INFORMATICS
	ERC Starting Grant to Michael Bronstein A prestigious scholarship granted by the European Research Council to "the most promising talents in research". 1.8 million Francs were assigned to the 32 years old Professor to create 5 new openings at USI for young researchers. The project aims at improving the methods for calculating similarities between objects and their application in fields such as medical imaging. More Information.
	BETWEEN ENTERPRISE AND HUMANITARIAN MISSION
	SwissLeg among Startups.ch Awards 2012 Winners 50,000 CHF were assigned to the Start-up plan of Roberto Agosta, Mohammad Ismail and Prof. Paulo Gonçalves (Director of the Master in Humanitarian Logistics and Management at USI). This will allow them to develop their business idea: to produce high quality leg prosthetics at an affordable price even in the poorest countries. More information on the competition and the project.
	START-UP AND INNOVATION
	Designergy rewarded with the final "Venture Kick" Hosted by our CP Start-up in its "Company Accelerator", the young company founded by USI alumni Daniel Lepori is the first one in Ticino to be awarded with the full 130,000CHF of the prize. Their project tied with L.E.S.S. of Lausanne, and it aims at the construction of a solar roof that integrates roofing and panels. More Information.
	MEDITTERANEAN STUDIES
	Mediterranean Cities, Myth and/or Reality? The conference will be held at Monte Verità in Ascona from Thursday, 27 until Saturday, 29 September and will see the participation of over 30 scholars hailing from both shores of "mare nostrum". The meeting is organised by USI's Master in Intercultural Communication in association with the University of Bergamo and University of Colorado at Boulder. 	The Viareggio-Rèpaci 2012 Prize to Antonella Anedda The literature Professor at ISI received the award for poetry with "Salva con nome", which is considered one of the most significant books of her literary work. 	YOUNG BRAINS ON LUGANO CAMPUS
	Fascinated by Informatics at USI Three secondary school students from Ticino and three from the German speaking part of Switzerland, spent four days at USI from 10 to 13 September developing small projects on topics such as smartphone app, 3D videogame designs and internet website development.
