| YOUNG MINDS, BRILLIANT IDEAS | | Federal Councillor Alain Berset to visit USI for the 46th Science and Youth Foundation National Competition The competition will be held on Friday, 4 May from 2pm to 5pm in the Aula Magna of Lugano Campus
and will feature 62 research projects by 77 young participants hailing from all over Switzerland. The young researchers will come from Junior and High Schools and Trade Schools of 15 different Cantons. Project ABIRISK kicked off: IRB is one of the Grantees An increasing number of drugs are based on biological molecules such as proteins and monoclonal antibodies. Unfortunately sometimes they trigger a response from the patient's immune system which might decrease their effectiveness or cause severe side effects. The European Project ABIRISK will aid in the creation of safer, new and more effective biopharmaceuticals. Furthermore it will also generate tools to
determine how individual patients are likely to respond to the drugs both in clinical trial and after their release to the market.
