| | PERFORMANCE |  | The Architects Walk On Thursday 15 December at 5pm leaving from piazza Achille Borella in Mendrisio, 64 freshmen from Prof Riccardo Blumer's Horizontal Design Studio, will experiment the relationship between space, body, sound and movement through a performance piece taking place along the streets of the town's historic centre. The students will walk in sync carrying on their shoulders a 15 meters long metal structure, weighing more than 300 kilos, with 64 built in megaphones. During the walk the performers will sing an ancient Armenian song "loosin yelav" while vocalizing and experimenting with sounds rehearsed during the design

A Presentation of Francesco Venezia's Volume The collection of the works by Francesco Venezia in the volume entitled: Che cos'è l'architettura. Lezioni, conferenze, un intervento, (what architecture is about, lessons, conferences and a speech), are written for the new
generation of architects, in order to spread precise theoretical
knowledge to counteract the triviality of contemporary form and content. More Information. | | | FILM SCREENINGS SERIES |  | The Movie "Pane e Cioccolata" opens the new Film Review "Storie e Confini" The comedy by Franco Brusati (Italy 1974) featuring a sharp and young Nino Manfredi will open the series of four screenings organized by the Dicastero Giovani e Eventi of Lugano and the Institute of Italian Studies, with the aim to bring insight to the phenomenon of Immigration. Institute of Communication and Health (IHC), USI, has won the first Poster Prize of the Swiss Patient Safety Foundation. The distinction was awarded at the International Conference for Patient Safety, held in Basel on 29 and 30 November. The prize-winning study explores the impact of health professionals' non-verbal communication on patients' reaction to disclosure of medical mistakes.
