| | INSTITUTE FOR MEDITERRANEAN STUDIES AND RSI |  | An Evening with Zygmunt Bauman Bauman is regarded
as one of the most influential thinkers of our times. The lecture "Modernity between Interregnum and Uncertainty" will be presented by the Professor of the University of Leeds on Tuesday 15 November at 8pm. As a Postmodern Theorist, Bauman is also renowned for his thesis on "Liquid Modernity" in which he shows how the downsides of globalization cause in individuals an endemic uncertainty, breach and fear. The lecture will be held in English with simultaneous translation in Italian. The event will take place in the Auditorium followed by an interview by Roberto Antonini and a public debate. | | | PER VOCE SOLA |  | Arias of Italian Identity Friday 18 November from 8.30pm at the Teatro Cittadella, the mezzosoprano Alessandra Caruccio will perform several Arias of Italian Identity (Aria dell'Identità Italiana) featuring Silvia Carta on the Piano (concert programme). The conferment of the prestigious title took place last week in London.This is
the latest in a long series of academic prizes and distinctions assigned to Professor Parrinello. We also remind you that on Monday 28 November at 10am in the Aula Magna of the Lugano Campus, Prof. Parinello will be awarded the Marcel Benoist Prize 2011.
