| | LuMi, A NEW PROJECT BETWEEN LUGANO AND MILAN “Per Voce Sola” (“With one voice”) Four performances staged by different soloists. These artists will interpret through one voice, one body, or one instrument. The performances, organized by our Institute of Italian Studies, the Department of Youth and Events of the City of Lugano, and Frigoriferi Milanesi, will be held in Lugano and Milan. The first show will take place the 15th of October at
8:30pm at the Teatro il Foce of Lugano with “Kohlhaas”, an intense monologue by Marco Baliani. The show will be preceded by a talk with Baliani at 3:30pm in room A11 (Lugano Campus). | - The new issue of Square, the magazine of USI, has been released. The cover story is dedicated to new challenges in the field of management, as well as the role of scientific research and higher education in improving the field. You can find Square online and in various stands on the Lugano and Mendrisio campuses.
- Saturday, October 2nd, the new auditorium of Plantahof di Landquart (Grisons) was inaugurated in the presence of Federal
Councillor Stefan Engler. The auditorium is the
work of Valerio Olgiati, architect and Professor at the Academy of Architecture. Saturday, October 16th, at 5pm, Olgiati will hold a public lecture in the new auditorium, illustrating its characteristics.
- The runner-up to the Miss Switzerland 2010 competition studies at USI. Sabrina Guilloud, from Geneva, is 23 years old and has studied Communication Sciences at USI since 2007. Sabrina is about to receive her bachelor’s degree. In the meantime, she has been awarded second place in the national contest for “the most beautiful woman in Switzerland” just last week in Zurich.
