More information. | | INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH IN BIOMEDICINE | | The late Ralph Steinman, 2011 Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine, former member of the IRB Scientific Advisory Board His story has made its way around the world: Steinman, researcher at Rockefeller University in New York, never came to know that he had won the Nobel Prize; he passed away just days before having received the news. Steinman had strong ties to Ticino: from 2000 to 2004, he was a member of the IRB Scientific Advisory

More information. | | NEWMINE LAB | | Final ceremony of the MELISSA project A few weeks ago in Cape Town, the final ceremony of the MELISSA project (Measuring E-Learning Impact in primary Schools in South African disadvantaged areas) took place, with the participants receiving
their diplomas. The study analysed the impact of new information technologies on elementary school teachers in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. Those who took part in the ceremony included Phumzile Mlambo-Nguka, former Vice-President of South Africa and current doctoral student in the topic of eLearning, as well as Lorenzo Cantoni, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences.
