Nel nuovo incontro di rectoverso si confronteranno il Rettore dell’USI Prof. Boas Erez e il Professore dell’Istituto di studi italiani Giacomo Jori: l'appuntamento è per martedì 12 dicembre alle 17:30 nell’auditorio del campus di Lugano.
Nel contesto della prima delle due tornate annuali del FNS i progetti candidati dall’USI hanno ottenuto un buon tasso di successo, pari quasi al 60%. Complessivamente i 12 progetti sono finanziati con 6,5 milioni di franchi.
La start up vincitrice sviluppa prodotti farmaceutici innovativi per la diagnosi precoce di patologie con esigenze mediche elevate e urgenti: classificandosi al primo posto si è aggiudicata 50.000 CHF e una borsa di studio dell’Executive MBA dell’USI.
Venerdì 15 dicembre alle 18:00 presso la Sala Refettorio del LAC a Lugano la prof. tunisina autrice del volume "Gli ultimi giorni di Maometto" dialogherà con il prof. Gilles Kepel in un incontro organizzato in collaborazione con il LAC (in francese).
Il MOOC “Tourism Management at UNESCO World Heritage Sites” si rivolge ai decisori politici, a chi gestisce le destinazioni, agli studenti e a chi è interessato a capire come il turismo possa relazionarsi in modo sostenibile con i siti patrimonio dell’umanità.

Intervista a Caroline Lees, redattrice della versione in lingua inglese dell'EJO, che sottolinea l'importanza dell'Osservatorio nato all'USI nel 2004 e il suo ruolo di servizio per i media e il pubblico nell'affrontare le crescenti ondate di autocrazia.
Un gruppo di studenti del Bachelor in scienze informatiche si è distinto nella competizione europea di programmazione organizzata a Parigi da Télécom ParisTech e dall'École normale supérieure, classificandosi al 5. posto su 77 gruppi partecipanti.

In the first of the two annual rounds of the Swiss National Science Foundation, the projects submitted by USI achieved the positive success rate of almost 60%. Together, the 12 projects are financed with 6.5 million CHF.
The winning start up develops innovative pharmaceutical products for the early diagnosis of diseases with high and urgent medical needs. The first prize consisted in 50,000 CHF and a full scholarship offered by USI Executive MBA.

The conference “Computer Networks Histories (CNH): Local, National and Transnational Perspectives” on the different paths that led to the development of computer networks in different geographical and political contexts will be held on Dec 14-15.
On December 14 at 6.30pm in the Lugano campus auditorium, Prof. Kepel will retrace the salient facts from 2005 till today: among others, the murder of Theo Van Gogh, the scandal of the Danish caricatures of Mohammed, the Madrid and London attacks.

A group of USI Bachelor students in Computer Sciences have distinguished themselves in the European programming competition organised in Paris by Télécom ParisTech and École normale supérieure, ranking 5th out of 77 participating groups.
