Due eventi, che hanno luogo contemporaneamente, dedicati alla formazione specialistica e all'ingresso dei laureati nel mondo del lavoro. Un'unione tutt'altro che casuale, che sottolinea come queste realtà siano strettamente connesse:

"Conta più il talento o la preparazione? Le leggi del successo nel mondo del lavoro": si apre con una tavola rotonda il Career Forum 2011

Al dibattito, che avrà luogo giovedì 3 marzo alle ore 17:00 nell’auditorio del Campus di Lugano, perderanno parte Gianni Dell'Orto (uno dei più famosi cacciatori di teste di Italia e Senior Partner della Signium International), Giorgio Siracusa (capo delle risorse umane per l’Europa occidentale di Procter & Gamble) e Tito Tettamanti (tra i più affermati imprenditori e finanzieri ticinesi). Il prof. Rico Maggi, Decano Facoltà di scienze economiche, modererà l'incontro. La manifestazione continuerà per tutta la giornata di venerdì 4 marzo con un'expo che vedrà la partecipazione di oltre 60 realtà professionali, diverse presentazioni e due incontri dedicati esclusivamente agli alumni.

Siete vicini alla scelta di un Master e volete comprenderne la struttura, gli sbocchi professionali e le modalità?

Il 4 marzo avrete l'opportunità di orientarvi nella vasta scelta dei percorsi di Master offerti dall'USI. Ogni Master sarà presentato dal proprio responsabile accademico e grazie a testimonianze dirette degli studenti che lo stanno frequentando: i visitatori potranno così avere un quadro completo della specializzazione alla quale sono interessati. I direttori accademici si soffermeranno in particolare sui contenuti, la struttura e l'organizzazione degli studi (durata, stage, tesi, semestre di scambio, lingue di insegnamento, ecc.), senza dimenticare le prospettive professionali del Master. Sarà inoltre possibile trovare informazioni sulle lauree specialistiche di EPFL, Universität Basel, Universität Luzern e Université de Neuchâtel.

Nuova stazione velopass nel campus di Lugano: l'università offre a tutti i membri della comunità l'abbonamento gratuito

La trovate accanto all'entrata dell'edificio principale: è la nuova stazione di bike sharing della rete Lugano-Paradiso. Un sistema di noleggio di biciclette gestito tramite stazioni automatiche che funzionano 7 giorni su 7, 24 ore su 24. Per incoraggiare una mobilità più sostenibile dei quasi 4000 studenti, docenti e collaboratori dell'USI, l'ateneo ha deciso di offrire l'abbonamento regiopass Lugano-Paradiso ad ognuno dei membri della comunità universitaria.

Giovanni De Micheli e Lothar Thiele, docenti e membri dello steering commitee di ALaRI, eletti all'Academia Europaea

I due professori, attivi nell'Istituto ALaRI fin dalla sua fondazione nel 1999, entrano a far parte dei 2'300 membri della prestigiosa Academia Europaea: questa associazione non governativa mira a promuovere le scienze umane - matematica, ingegneria, fisica, scienze sociali e della vita - in Europa. Fondata nel 1988 e con sede a Londra, l'Academia formula raccomandazioni ai governi nazionali e alle agenzie internazionali su questioni che interessano le scienze e la vita accademica in Europa. Si propone inoltre di incoraggiare la ricerca interdisciplinare e internazionale in tutti i settori dell'apprendimento, soprattutto in relazione alle problematiche europee.

Una nuova pagina web dedicata alle promozioni per gli studenti: all'indirizzo www.usi.ch/promozioni trovate un elenco di aziende che hanno deciso di concedere sconti speciali sui loro servizi e prodotti. Tra le nuove aziende che hanno aderito all'iniziativa, il negozio di specialità gastronomiche Gabbani e la compagnia aerea Darwin Airline. Questi nuovi accordi si aggiungono a quelli già esistenti con due negozi di articoli sportivi: Athleticum e Denota.

Take the fastest way to success: how talent and education are inextricably linked in building a solid professional career

Two events dedicated to specialised education and the entry of graduates into the professional world will take place simultaneously. This union is far from arbitrary and emphasizes that these realities are very closely connected:

"Talent or training: What's more important? Rules for succeeding in the professional world." The 2011 Career Forum will open with a workshop

At the debate, which will take place Thursday, March 3rd at 17:00 in the Lugano Campus auditorium, Gianni Dell'Orto (one of the most famous headhunters in Italy and Senior Partner at Signium International), Giorgio Siracusa (Vice President Human Resources Western Europe at Procter & Gamble) and Tito Tettamanti (amongst the most established entrepreneurs and financiers in Ticino) will participate. Prof. Rico Maggi, Dean of the USI Faculty of Economics, will moderate the meeting, opening the 2011 edition of the Career Forum. The event will continue all day on Friday, March 4, with an expo that will see the participation of more than 60 professional entities, various presentations and two meetings dedicated exclusively to alumni.

Are you close to choosing a Master and want to understand its structure, contents and career prospects?

On March 4, you will have the opportunity to orient yourself within the vast range of Master programmes offered by USI. Each Master will be presented by its own academic director, and thanks to first-hand testimonials from current students, the visitors can form a complete picture of the specialisations that interest them. The academic directors will focus in particular on the contents, structure and the organisation of the studies (length of programme, internship, thesis, exchange semesters, language of instruction, etc.) without neglecting the professional perspective of the Master. New velopass bike station on the Lugano Campus: the university offers a free regional pass to all of its members

Check out the new bike sharing station (part of the Lugano-Paradiso network) right in front of the main building. Velopass is a free-access bike rental system working with stations available 24/7. To encourage more sustainable mobility for nearly 4,000 students, lecturers and collaborators at USI, the university decided to offer the regiopass Lugano-Paradiso subscription to each member of the university community.

Giovanni De Micheli and Lothar Thiele, lecturers and members of the ALaRI steering committee, elected to the Academy of Europe

The two professors, active at the ALaRI institute since its inception in 1999, join 2,300 members of the prestigious Academy of Europe: this non-governmental association seeks to promote the human sciences - mathematics, engineering, physics, and social and life sciences - in Europe. Founded in 1988 and based in London, the Academy formulates recommendations to national governments and to international agencies on matters that concern the sciences and academic life in Europe. It also seeks to encourage interdisciplinary and international research in all sectors of learning, above all regarding European issues.

Among the companies to recently join in the initiative are gourmet delicatessen Gabbani and Darwin Airline. This new agreement builds on the already existing deal with two sporting stores: Athleticum and Denota.
