The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 20th at 6pm in the Aula Magna of Lugano Campus; the prize will be conferred by Marco Baggiolini, president of the Foundation and USI’s honorary president. | | MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ECONOMIC POLICY | | A new study programme of the Faculty of Economics Starting from the academic year 2015/2016 USI expands its offer of the Faculty of Economics with the Master of Science in Economic Policy. The two-year programme aims at training students in economic policy, teaching them how to tackle the complex issues of global economy. The future graduates will be equipped with the skills to operate in international institutions, central banks and in the higher spheres of public administration by learning the quantitative methods and the analytical tools necessary for a successful career as professional economist with a strong policy orientation. >>> | | MASTER OF ADVANCED STUDIES IN HUMANITARIAN LOGISTICS AND MANAGEMENT | | MASHLM graduate awarded with the 2014 best thesis in humanitarian logistics MASHLM graduate Silvia Uneddu has been awarded a first prize for the best master thesis in Humanitarian Logistics by the
Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Research Institute at the Hanken School of Economics in Finland. The USI’s Master is dedicated to professionals in the field of humanitarian management and logistics. DATA SCIENCE LECTURE SERIES | | The Dynamics of Illegality. Data and simulations The third encounter of the series Data and Society: opportunities and concerns will be held on Tuesday, May 19th at 6pm in the Auditorium of Lugano Campus. Promoted by the Interdisciplinary Institute of Data Science, the lecture will be held by Rosaria Conte, director of the Laboratory of Agent-Based Social Simulation of the
Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies at CNR in Rome. The Japanese-German writer Yoko Tawada will hold her lecture on Wednesday, May 20th from 1.30pm in room A21 of Lugano Campus.
