GRADUATION CEREMONY 160 new graduaties in Economics, hailing from 18 different countries During last week's ceremony, 70 Bachelor, 87 two-year Master and 3 Master of Advanced Studies degrees were awarded. The top students were recognized with special awards. Simone Montanari was
awarded the prize established by ABT( Associazione Bancaria Ticinese) for having the highest average in the Bachelor degree program and Camilla Boschetti, respectively, for that of the highest average in the Master program. The Pietro Balestra prize for quantitative materials, created by BSI SA, was won by Mattia Branca for having the highest grades in Econometrics, Statistics and Mathematics courses. Vigener Prize 2010 This past November 15th, on the occasion of the Dies academicus at the University of Fribourg, the Faculty of Law conferred Dr. Federica De Rossa Gisimundo this prestigious award for her PhD dissertation, entitled "Public Service, instrument of efficacy for the fundamental
rights of the citizen". Her thesis examines the relationship between the demand for efficiency of public services in an increasingly liberalised market and the protection of fundamental consumer rights. The Vigener Prize, awarded since 1908, thanks to the legacy of Prof. Joseph Vigener, is conferred annually to the Master or Doctoral student with degree work of outstanding academic excellence. More details. | | 2010 PRIZE FOR THE BEST ENTREPRENEURIAL IDEA IN TICINO The winner is Daniel Lepori, USI graduate, for his project, Designergy The prize, established as part of the Interreg program with the support of BSI SA, was awarded last week. The awarded project was selected the Commission of Experts of CP Start-up USI-SUPSI. Designergy aims to develop solar elements that are integrated into construction materials, enabling both solar energy production at lower installation costs compared to the solutions currently available and the construction of energy efficient buildings.
The project stands out for the strong impact it could have on society, the environment and the economy. | |
