Dan Segre Tonight at 6pm in room A11 of Lugano Campus, Gad Lerner, Marcello Foa and Federica Frediani will remember the professor through some excerpts from his last book, The Story of a Jew who wanted to be a Hero. In this recently published autobiography the founder of USI’s Institute of Mediterranean Studies who passed away last September, wonders about big issues such as illness and faith, about the tasks that each individual is called to perform in life, and about a spasmodic and incomplete search for identity. >>> | | ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS | | Schelling Architecture Award 2014 to Diébédo Francis Kéré Visiting professor at USI’s Academy of Architecture Diébédo Francis Kéré, won last Wednesday the prestigious prize awarded by Schelling Architekturstiftung in tandem with architecture critic and theorist Juhani Pallasmaa. of Informatics took students on a fascinating journey through algorithms, programming, and 3D virtual reality. The Faculty of Economics ventured into the magic of numbers and statistics and the Faculty of Communication Sciences uncovered the secrets of digital tourism. With President Piero Martinoli, the students travelled through the history of science and isolated antibodies with the IRB. Days USI in cooperation with the Transfusion Service CRS of the Italian speaking Switzerland, organises a new blood drive following the success of the former donations. Save the date for Tuesday, November 25th and Wednesday, November 26th in room 351. To donate blood one must be in good health and weigh more than 50 kg. Show up at the stand with a valid ID and on a full stomach. The procedure will last about 30 minutes. >>> |
