| FACULTY OF INFORMATICS | | An Interactive Exhibition to Celebrate the Faculty’s 10th Anniversary Fractal flowers, interactive robots and virtual dinosaurs. Talks among computers, encrypted passwords and quantum phenomena. These are some of the themes of the exhibition that will be held on Saturday, October 18 in the Aula Magna of Lugano Campus. An opportunity to discover
innovation in informatics and become acquainted with the research areas on which the Faculty focused in the past years. >>> | | MUCH MORE THAN COMPUTERS | | Activities and conferences alongside the exhibition On Saturday from 10am in the Aula Magna a Computational Playground will entertain children from the age of 3.
At 11am Alessandra Gorla (Faculty’s PhD and researcher at Google California) will hold the presentation Informatics Careers: a day in a googler’s life, and at 2pm Massimo Banzi will hold the lecture Arduino: creativity and technology. At 3.30pm the pediatrician Andreas Wechsler and prof. Laura Pozzi will discuss
about Informatics and child development. The event will end at 4.45pm with The Final Computation and the launch of the Faculty’s “computer’s domino”. >>> | | REUNION OF ALUMNI WORKING IN THE TECH FIELD | | First Alumni in Tech Apero To close the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Faculty of Informatics, a reception for all USI’s Alumni working in
the tech field will be held on Saturday at 5.15pm in room A11 Lugano Campus. The Alumnus Cyrus Hall will share his academic and professional experience that led him to head a team of developers at Twitch in San Francisco (a company recently taken over by Amazon). >>> | | PUBLIC ROUND TABLE ON DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES AND

Friday, October 24 at 1pm in the Auditorium of Lugano Campus the State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation Mauro dell’Ambrogio, USI’s prof. Lorenzo Cantoni, prof. Per Bergamin (Institute for Distance and eLearning Research, FFHS) and Andreas Ledergerber (Head of the Science and Technology Office, Washington Swiss Embassy) will tackle issues such as the rapid development of digital technologies and the possibilities to use them to reinvent higher education. >>> | | ARCHILECTURE AT THE ACADEMY’S LIBRARY | | Water, Infrastructure and Memory For the inventory of eng. Augusto Rima’s archive, the Academy of Architecture’s library will take part in the 9th Biennale dell’immagine with an exhibition of historical documents. The encounter will be held on Tuesday, October 14 at 6pm during the opening of the photo exhibition Water, Infrastructure and Memory with a presentation by prof. Luigi Lorenzetti, coordinator of LabiSAlp, the History of the Alps Study Centre. >>> | | ICH AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES SERVICE | | Children and Vaccines: a conscious choice The topic of vaccinations is the focus of ICH-Institute of Communication and Health's research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and carried out as part of the national strategy of prevention. The aim of the event open to anyone interested in the subject is to

ARCHIVE AND ELABORATE DATA ON LINE | | USI towards Cloud USI has adopted the platform
Office 365 to integrate cloud messaging services, voice, video conferences, and document management. It offers the chance to manage e-mail, calendar and contact management (Exchange Online), to archive business documents (OneDrive), to communicate via instant messaging, voice and videoconferences (Lync Online), to read and edit office documents (Office Web App), to create personal intranet sites (Sharepoint Online) and to use Yammer social network for internal communication.
