| | NEW AT USI Public presentation of the new Executive Master in Business Administration EMBA The meeting, which will take place Thursday, at 11:30 (room A14, Lugano Campus), will be the occasion for USI's newest Executive Master to be presented to the public and to the press. The new master will launch in May of 2011. Designed to meet the needs of career professionals, this post-graduate part-time programme will be held in English and boasts an international faculty. information. | | AWARD Prof. Stephan Russ-Mohl recognized by the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz Stephan Russ-Mohl is Director of the
European Journalism Observatory of the Faculty of Communication Sciences and a Full Professor at USI since 2002. Last week, in Mainz, he was presented the Gutenberg Fellowship, an award towards his academic career. The scholarship will permit him to concentrate for the next two years on projects and research themes related to the convergence of the mass media and its effects on journalism. The Institute for Journalism at the University of Mainz was founded by Elisabeth Noelle-Neumann and is considered amongst the most prestigious research centres in the sector throughout Germany. |
| CONFERRAL OF DEGREES 52 new graduates in Informatics From Russia to Peru, from India to Greece, and from the United States to Ticino. In total, the 52 graduates from the Faculty of Informatics hail from 16 countries. 9 of them graduate with a Bachelor degree, 29 with a Master, 7 with an Executive Master and 7 with a Ph.D. Last Tuesday they received their diplomas during the ceremony, which took place in the auditorium of the Lugano Campus. workshop organized with the collaboration of COMES Educational Project (a Nano-Tera Educational project) along with MULTICUBE and MADNESS (both FP7 projects) will be held on the Lugano Campus. Participants will explore challenges for SME’s in Embedded Systems Design, as well as optimal solutions to enable innovation in an increasingly complex environment.
