On Tuesday, October 7 at 5.30pm in the Auditorium (Lugano Campus) Alberto Melloni of UNIMORE will kick off the series with a lecture entitled The Desire for Unity of Christians in the Twentieth Century. >>> | | MOURNING IN THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY | | A last goodbye to Vittorio Dan Segre Professor Segre passed away on Saturday night. He was the founder of USI's Institute for Mediterranean Studies. Segre emigrated to Palestine in 1939 and after serving as a diplomat in Israel, he devoted himself to his academic career from 1967 to 1989. In 1989 he was appointed Professor Emeritus at the University of Haifa as an expert in Jewish political though. He taught International Relations at Oxford University, at MIT Boston, at Standford's University, at the University of Milan and Turin. >>> | | PRESTIGIOUS APPOINTMENT FOR AN

LECTURER | | Federica De Rossa Gisimundo appointed to the Federal Court Last week the Federal Assembly appointed two new judges and four substitute judges to the Federal Court of Lausanne. Among the latter is PhD Federica De Rossa Gisimundo, with 213 votes out of 221. A law's graduate at the University of Fribourg, since 2009 Federica De Rossa Gisimundo is maître-assistante at USI, where she teaches economic law and international economic law. >>> | | INFO-LUNCH BY EURESEARCH LUGANO | | Presentation of the next ICT Research Calls An info-lunch will be held on Wednesday, October 1 at 12.30 in room 250 (Lugano Campus). By connecting top researchers in Switzerland and India/Brazil, the programme promotes an international network and enables access to the most promising markets.
