Giorgio Napolitano farà tappa all'USI

Mercoledì 21 maggio, nell'ambito della sua visita di Stato in Svizzera che lo porterà prima a Ginevra e Berna, il capo di Stato italiano farà tappa sul campus di Lugano. Dopo il saluto del Presidente del Consiglio di Stato Manuele Bertoli e del Presidente dell'USI Piero Martinoli, Napolitano assisterà ad una lezione intitolata Il valore dell’intreccio culturale tra Svizzera e Italia, tenuta a quattro mani da Mario Botta e Carlo Ossola. Multilocalità residenziale nelle Alpi

Venerdì 16 maggio dalle 9.30 a Villa Argentina (campus di Mendrisio) si terrà una giornata di studio del Laboratorio di Storia delle Alpi sulla multilocalità residenziale, un tratto che segna in profondità le forme insediative presenti nelle Alpi. Prendendo spunto dall’attuale dibattito sulla proliferazione delle residenze secondarie nelle Alpi, il seminario analizzerà in una prospettiva di lunga durata le implicazioni dell’uso di forme di “pluri-residenzialità” sulle risorse territoriali e sulla definizione della territorialità delle società di montagna.

Lezione di commiato del prof. Eddo Rigotti

Primo Decano della Facoltà di scienze della comunicazione, il prof. Eddo Rigotti ha dedicato la propria carriera accademica allo studio della linguistica e dell'argomentazione. All'USI ha fondato, tra le altre cose, l’Istituto di argomentazione, linguistica e semiotica, il Laboratorio di Argomentazione nei Contesti della Pubblica Sfera ed è tra gli ideatori della rivista Studies in Communication Sciences. La sua lezione dal titolo Commiato si terrà giovedì 22 maggio alle 17.00 in auditorio (campus di Lugano) e sarà l'occasione per rendere omaggio al prezioso lavoro svolto in favore della nostra università.

Pubblicato il terzo studio sul settore della comunicazione aziendale e delle pubbliche relazioni in Svizzera

Promosso da USI, BPRA, HarbourClub, pr suisse e SPRI, lo studio ha coinvolto oltre 400 professionisti e costituisce l'unica indagine esauriente sull'evoluzione e sulle tendenze del ramo delle relazioni pubbliche e della comunicazione aziendale in Svizzera. La ricerca, coordinata per l’USI dal prof. Francesco Lurati, fornisce una panoramica completa sulle auto-rappresentazioni, le strutture e le pratiche della professione. Questa edizione dello studio, la terza dopo quelle del 2009 e del 2011, fotografa anche i principali cambiamenti in corso nel settore.

Analisi Economica del Diritto. The Italian Job

Mercoledì 14 maggio alle 15:30 in aula A12 (campus di Lugano), il prof. Roberto Pardolesi dell’Università LUISS “Guido Carli” di Roma terrà un seminario dal titolo Analisi Economica del Diritto. The Italian Job, indirizzato agli studenti del Bachelor di economia all’interno del corso di Analisi Economica del Diritto del prof. Massimiliano Vatiero. Il seminario, che si inserisce nelle attività della Cattedra Brenno Galli, è aperto al pubblico. Il prof. Pardolesi è considerato uno dei massimi esperti italiani nel campo dell’antitrust e dell’analisi economica del diritto.

La Svizzera per Venezia, da ora anche online

La Fondazione sostiene il recupero e la conservazione del patrimonio artistico veneziano, con particolare riguardo alle opere dei molti architetti, artisti e artigiani svizzeri attivi nei secoli nella Serenissima. La piattaforma è il risultato di un progetto di comunicazione online di tre studentesse del laboratorio webatelier.net, nell’ambito delle attività dell’UNESCO Chair in ICT to develop and promote sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites diretta dal Decano della Facoltà di scienze della comunicazione prof. Lorenzo Cantoni.

Al via l'11° USI Placement Survey

L'edizione 2014 dell’indagine analizza la situazione professionale dei laureati 2008 e 2012/2013 (a 1 anno e a 5 anni dalla laurea). L’obiettivo è comprendere le modalità di inserimento nel mondo del lavoro dei diplomati: i risultati delle indagini sono presentati annualmente on line ed in una pubblicazione dal titolo USI Placement Report. Il questionario è anonimo per garantire la riservatezza ai rispondenti e i dati sono presentati solo in forma aggregata.

Bike to work 2014

Anche quest'anno i dipendenti dell'USI (professori, assistenti e collaboratori) hanno la possibilità di partecipare al concorso volto a promuovere l'uso della bicicletta nel tragitto casa-lavoro. Per partecipare all'estrazione dei premi è sufficiente formare un team di quattro persone che si rechi al lavoro utilizzando la bicicletta per almeno una parte del tragitto durante tutto il mese di giugno. Iscrizioni via mail a aniello.de.lucia@usi.ch entro venerdì 23 maggio indicando i nomi delle persone che formano il team e specificando un caposquadra.

Giorgio Napolitano to make stop at USI

During his state visit in Switzerland that will take him first to Geneva and Bern, the Italian President will make a stop on Lugano Campus on Wednesday, 21 May. After the address by State Councillor Manuele Bertoli and a speech by USI’s President Piero Martinoli, Napolitano will attend a lecture entitled The Value of the Cultural Weave between Italy and Switzerland, held in tandem by Mario Botta and Carlo Ossola. More detailed information about invitations and the programme will follow. 

Residential Multi-Locality in the Alps

A day of study of the History of the Alps Study Centre on multi locality, a reality that marks deep into the forms of settlement in the Alps, will be held on Friday, 16 May at 9.30am in Villa Argentina (Mendrisio Campus). Inspired by the ongoing debate on the proliferation of secondary residences in the Alps, the seminar will observe in the long-term the implications regarding the multi-residential use of local resources and its impact on the definition of territoriality in the mountain community.

Professor Rigotti's Farewell Lecture

First Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Professor Eddo Rigotti devoted his academic career to the study of linguistic and argumentation. At USI he founded, among other things, The Institute of Argumentation, Linguistics and Semiotics, The Laboratory of Public Argumentation and is among the pioneer of the publication Studies in Communication Sciences. His lecture entitled Farewell will be held on Thursday, 22 May at 5pm in the Auditorium (Lugano Campus) and it will be the opportunity to pay tribute to the valuable work he carried out on behalf of our University.

Published, the third Study on Corporate Communication and Public Relations in Switzerland

The study involved more than 400 professionals and it is the only comprehensive research on the evolution and trends in the field of public relations and corporate communication in Switzerland. Fostered by USI, BPRA, HarbourClub, pr suisse and SPRI, and coordinated on USI’s part by prof. Francesco Lurati, it provides a complete overview of self-representations, structures and practice of the profession. This edition, the third after those of 2009 and 2011, portrays also all major changes taking place in the field.

Economic Analysis of Law. The Italian Job

Wednesday, 14 May at 3.30pm in room A12 (Lugano Campus), Prof. Roberto Pardolesi at the University LUISS “Guido Carli” of Rome will hold a seminar entitled An Economic Analysis of the Law. The Italian Job, addressed to all Bachelor’s students in Economics within the course of Economic Analysis of Law held by prof. Massimiliano Vatiero. The seminar, which is part of the activities of the Brenno Galli Chair, is open to the public. Professor Pardolesi is considered one of the greatest Italian experts in the field of antitrust and economic analysis of law.

Switzerland for Venice is now online

The Foundation supports the recovery and preservation of the Venetian’s artistic heritage, with a careful eye on the works of the many Swiss architects, artists and artisans active throughout the centuries in the Serenissima Republic of Venice. The platform is the result of an online communication project of three students of the laboratory webatelier.net, as part of the UNESCO Chair in ICT to develop and promote sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites headed by the Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences prof. Lorenzo Cantoni.

The 11th USI Placement Survey gets underway

The 2014 survey analyses the employment situation of 2008 and 2012/2013 graduates (1 year and 5 years from graduation). The purpose is to understand graduates job placement and the results are published annually online and in a publication entitled USI Placement Report. The survey is anonymous to ensure confidentiality, and only aggregate data are used.

Bike to work 2014

Once again this year, USI employees (professors, assistant and staff) have the opportunity to take part in the contest to promote the use of bicycles as a mean of transportation from home to work. To participate in the raffle, simply form a team of four people who will go to work by bicycle for at least a small part of the route during the month of June. To register write an e-mail to aniello.de.lucia@usi.ch by Friday, 23 May stating the names of the team members and the team leader.
