La società dell'informazione tra economia e politica

Decano della Facoltà di scienze della comunicazione nei bienni 2004-2006 e 2006-2008, il prof. Giuseppe Richeri ha dedicato la propria carriera allo studio della storia e teoria della comunicazione, all'analisi della politica ed economia dei media, nonché all'approfondimento delle strategie e dei mercati dei nuovi media. All'USI ha fondato l’Istituto Media e Giornalismo e l'Osservatorio sui Media e le Comunicazioni in Cina. La lezione di commiato, che si terrà martedì 29 aprile 2014 alle 17.00 in auditorio (campus di Lugano), sarà l'occasione per rendere omaggio al prezioso lavoro svolto in favore della nostra università.

Giulio Minoletti: architetto, urbanista e designer

Giulio Minoletti (1910–1981), architetto milanese, si è profilato per la spiccata versatilità e l’inclinazione alla ricerca sperimentale di forme, materiali, policromie e alla contaminazione tra generi artistici. La mostra è l’occasione per presentare la vastità della sua opera all’interno di cinque diverse sezioni tematiche. L'inaugurazione della mostra a lui dedicata si terrà mercoledì 16 aprile alle 19.00 nella Galleria dell'Accademia, campus di Mendrisio, e l'esposizione resterà aperta al pubblico fino a domenica 1° giugno.

Comprendere lo scenario culturale cinese

Dal 5 al 7 maggio il prof. Jiang Fei del Communication and Journalism Institute della China Academy of Social Science terrà tre lezioni pubbliche e gratuite nell’ambito di un corso seminariale organizzato dall’Osservatorio sui Media e le Comunicazioni in Cina dell’USI. Le lezioni sono rivolte a ricercatori, studenti e professionisti europei interessati ad approfondire la conoscenza delle strategie della Cina nel campo della comunicazione e della cultura, dell’industria creativa e del sistema mediatico. Iscrizioni entro il 30 aprile a info@chinamediaobs.org.

Seminario di gestione dello stress con Swami Ananda Chaitanya

Il maestro di Yoga e Vedanta, focalizzandosi sulle cause dello stress, aiuterà i partecipanti a promuovere un'osservazione di sé, analizzando i propri atteggiamenti di fronte alle situazioni e ricercandone le cause interiori. Il workshop, che si terrà sabato 26 aprile dalle 9.30 alle 16.30 in aula A12 (campus di Lugano), sarà suddiviso in sessioni di teoria e pratica di yoga, rilassamento e meditazione. Iscrizioni entro mercoledì 16 aprile. Lo stesso seminario sarà riproposto, aperto a tutto il pubblico interessato, domenica 27 aprile.

Ospitare per qualche settimana un liceale d'oltralpe

Dal 7 luglio al 3 agosto l'USI propone per la terza volta un programma di corsi di lingua italiana per i liceali della Svizzera tedesca e francese. Siamo alla ricerca di famiglie disponibili ad ospitarli, dietro rimborso di 150 franchi a settimana (iscrizioni entro il 19 maggio 2014). Si contribuirà così a completare l'esperienza dei partecipanti offrendo, oltre alla ricchezza della cultura italiana, anche la cordialità tipica delle nostre case. Nella selezione saranno favorite le famiglie con figli.

The Information Society between Economics and Politics

Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences from 2004-2006 and 2006-2008, prof. At USI he was founder of the Institute for Media and Journalism and the China Media Observatory. The farewell lecture is the opportunity to pay tribute to the valuable work carried out for our University and it will be held on Tuesday, 29 April 2014 at 5pm in the Auditorium (Lugano Campus).

Giulio Minoletti: architect, urban planner and designer

Giulio Minoletti (1910–1981), an architect from Milan, stood out for his remarkable versatility and inclination to experimental research with shapes, materials, polychromies and the contamination between artistic genres. The exhibit is the chance to display the magnitude of his work in five different thematic sections. The opening of the exhibit dedicated to the architect will be held on Wednesday, 16 April at 7pm in the Academy Gallery on Mendrisio Campus, and it will remain open to the public until Sunday, 1 June.

Understanding the Chinese cultural setting

From 5 May to 7 May, prof. Jiang Fei of the Communication and Journalism Institute of the China Academy of Social Science will hold three open public lectures in the framework of a seminar organized by USI’s China Media Observatory. The lectures target researchers, students and European professionals interested in learning more about Chinese strategies in the field of communication and culture, in the creative industry and media. Stress Management Seminar with Swami Ananda Chaitanya

Focusing on the causes of stress, the Yoga and Vedanta Master will help participants and promote self-observation by guiding them through an analysis of their behaviour while facing different situations, and helping them uncover inner conflicts. The workshop, held on Saturday 26 April from 9.30am to 4.30pm in room A12 of Lugano Campus, will be divided in theoretical and practical sessions of Yoga, relaxation and meditation. Registration by Wednesday, 16 April. The seminar will be offered again on Sunday, 27 April and it will be open to anyone interested.

Welcome for a few Weeks a High School Student from across the Alps

From 7 July to 3 August USI offers for the third time a study programme in Italian dedicated to High School students from the German and French speaking parts of Switzerland. We are looking for families willing to host them. The families will receive a 150 CHF refund per week (registration by 19 May 2014). This way you will help enrich the experience of the participants, by giving them a warm welcome typical of our homes. Family with kids will be facilitated in the selection.

For over 20 years, the foundation chooses the top students from all Swiss universities and supports them in their path through scholarships, training, networking and exchange. What requirements must a student meet in order to be accepted? In addition to excellent academic results and the knowledge of at least two national Swiss languages, all candidates must be motivated, have sense of responsibility, and good social and communication skills. Application can be submitted during the bachelor or in the beginning of the Master.
