Ethics Committee The new entity examines and approves under an ethical
point of view, all research projects and scientific publications that do not fall within the Cantonal Ethics Committee’s responsibilities, according to all national and international requirements in the field of scientific research. Moreover it is responsible for receiving all reports of alleged cases of plagiarism or other scientific misconduct on behalf of the faculty’s staff. Chaired by PhD. Federica De Rossa Gisimundo, USI’s Ethics Committee offices are at IDUSI (Institute of Law) of the Faculty of Economics. >>> | | FACULTY OF COMMUNICATION
SCIENCES | | Greenway: the augmented reality lands in Lugano USI’s laboratory webatelier.net, in cooperation with the Rotary Club Lugano and the Tourism and Events Area City of Lugano, presented this morning to the press the project Greenway: an interactive guide of the Lake Lugano region with the aim of improving the tourist experience of the
area through the use of augmented reality technology. Prof. Lorenzo Cantoni and PhD. Elena Marchiori explained on behalf of USI the outline of the

the methods instituted within the project DICE, will be held on Wednesday, 9 April from 2.30pm to 5.45pm in the Auditorium (Lugano Campus). www.labisalp.arc.usi.ch contains a large selection of study material: in the publication section for example it is possible to download the issues of the magazine Histoire des Alpes – Storia delle Alpi – Geschichte der Alpen (except for the last three issues that are available online for purchase) and working papers of the laboratory’s young researchers. OPEN | | Venture Ideas 2014: get acquainted with entrepreneurship The course will be held on Thursday, 17 April at SUPSI (Trevano Campus) and is dedicated to students and PhDs interested in the topic of entrepreneurship. Organised by CP Start-up, USI and SUPSI in the framework of the Federal Programme CTI Entrepreneurship, the initiative offers the chance to listen to the testimonies of young entrepreneurs and to familiarise with the tools made available in Ticino and in the rest of Switzerland in support of those who plan to embark on an entrepreneurial career. >>> | | LICEO LUGANO 2 SPECIAL DAYS 2014 | | High School Students Discovering Informatics From today until Wednesday, the group of students from Liceo Lugano 2 will take part in different projects under the guidance of USI’s researchers. The students will learn for example how to design a video game, write their first programme and they will

acquire basic knowledge to understand all dynamics that dominate the interaction between celestial bodies by bringing a small galaxy to life through the implementation of numerical integration for the approximation of ordinary differential equations. >>> |
