Istituito il Comitato etico dell'USI

L'organo esamina ed approva dal punto di vista etico, nei casi che non rientrano nelle competenze del Comitato etico cantonale, i progetti di ricerca e le pubblicazioni scientifiche, secondo i requisiti invalsi a livello nazionale e internazionale nell'ambito della ricerca scientifica. Inoltre il comitato costituisce l'istanza preposta a ricevere le segnalazioni di presunti casi di plagio o altro comportamento scientifico scorretto da parte dei collaboratori del corpo accademico. Presieduto dalla Dr. Federica De Rossa Gisimundo, il Comitato etico dell'USI ha sede presso l’Istituto di diritto della Facoltà di scienze economiche.

Greenway: la realtà aumentata arriva a Lugano

Il laboratorio webatelier.net dell'USI, in collaborazione con il Rotary Club Lugano e l’Area Turismo ed Eventi della Città di Lugano, ha presentato stamattina ai giornalisti il progetto Greenway, una guida interattiva alla regione del lago di Lugano che sfruttando la tecnologia della realtà aumentata punta a migliorare l’esperienza turistica del comprensorio. Il prof. Lorenzo Cantoni e la Dr. Elena Marchiori hanno spiegato per conto dell'USI i contorni dell’innovativo progetto.

Il diritto d’autore nell'insegnamento: principi, metodologia, casi pratici

Il seminario, che presenta le basi del diritto d’autore svizzero nonché la metodologia istituita in seno al progetto DICE, si terrà mercoledì 9 aprile dalle 14:30 alle 17:45 in auditorio (campus di Lugano). Rivolto particolarmente a docenti, insegnanti, ricercatori e bibliotecari, ma aperto a tutto il pubblico interessato, il seminario prevede anche un momento dedicato alla discussione di casi pratici grazie alla discussione diretta con i partecipanti. La partecipazione è libera, è tuttavia richiesto un avviso di iscrizione a copyright.edu.com@usi.ch.

Online il nuovo sito del Laboratorio di Storia delle Alpi (LabiSAlp)

Il nuovo sito www.labisalp.arc.usi.ch contiene un'ampia raccolta di materiale di studio: nella pagina delle pubblicazioni sono ad esempio scaricabili i numeri della rivista Histoire des Alpes – Storia delle Alpi – Geschichte der Alpen (ad eccezione delle ultime tre edizioni, acquistabili online) e i working paper dei giovani ricercatori del laboratorio. La sezione dedicata agli eventi consente invece di restare informati sulle iniziative del LabiSAlp o sugli appuntamenti che riguardano più in generale la storia dell'area alpina.

Venture Ideas 2014: conoscere l'imprenditorialità

Il corso avrà luogo giovedì 17 aprile alla SUPSI (campus di Trevano) ed è rivolto a studenti e dottorandi interessati al tema dell'imprenditorialità. Organizzata da CP Start-up, USI e SUPSI nell'ambito del programma federale CTI Entrepreneurship, l'iniziativa offre anche la possibilità di ascoltare le testimonianze di giovani imprenditori e di prendere conoscenza degli strumenti offerti in Ticino e nel resto della Svizzera a supporto di coloro che pensano di intraprendere una carriera imprenditoriale.

Liceali alla scoperta dell’informatica

Da oggi e fino a mercoledì il gruppo di studenti del Liceo Lugano 2 si cimenterà in diversi progetti sotto la guida dei ricercatori dell'USI. Gli studenti impareranno ad esempio a progettare un videogioco, scriveranno il loro primo programma, acquisiranno addirittura i concetti di base per comprendere le dinamiche che dominano l’interazione tra corpi celesti, dando vita ad una piccola galassia tramite l’implementazione di un integratore numerico per l’approssimazione di equazioni differenziali ordinarie.

Establishment of USI’s Ethics Committee

The new entity examines and approves under an ethical point of view, all research projects and scientific publications that do not fall within the Cantonal Ethics Committee’s responsibilities, according to all national and international requirements in the field of scientific research. Moreover it is responsible for receiving all reports of alleged cases of plagiarism or other scientific misconduct on behalf of the faculty’s staff. Chaired by PhD. Federica De Rossa Gisimundo, USI’s Ethics Committee offices are at IDUSI (Institute of Law) of the Faculty of Economics.

Greenway: the augmented reality lands in Lugano

USI’s laboratory webatelier.net, in cooperation with the Rotary Club Lugano and the Tourism and Events Area City of Lugano, presented this morning to the press the project Greenway: an interactive guide of the Lake Lugano region with the aim of improving the tourist experience of the area through the use of augmented reality technology. Prof. Lorenzo Cantoni and PhD. Elena Marchiori explained on behalf of USI the outline of the innovative project.

Copyright in Education: principles, methods, case studies

The seminar, which presents the foundations of the Swiss copyright law and the methods instituted within the project DICE, will be held on Wednesday, 9 April from 2.30pm to 5.45pm in the Auditorium (Lugano Campus). Thought specifically for faculty, teachers, researchers and librarians and open to anyone interested, the seminar foresees a moment for the discussion of practical cases among all participants. Online the new site of the Laboratory of History of the Alps (LabiSAlp)

The new site www.labisalp.arc.usi.ch contains a large selection of study material: in the publication section for example it is possible to download the issues of the magazine Histoire des Alpes – Storia delle Alpi – Geschichte der Alpen (except for the last three issues that are available online for purchase) and working papers of the laboratory’s young researchers. The event section makes it possible to keep informed about all LabiSAlp events or encounters on Alpine History in general.

Venture Ideas 2014: get acquainted with entrepreneurship

The course will be held on Thursday, 17 April at SUPSI (Trevano Campus) and is dedicated to students and PhDs interested in the topic of entrepreneurship. Organised by CP Start-up, USI and SUPSI in the framework of the Federal Programme CTI Entrepreneurship, the initiative offers the chance to listen to the testimonies of young entrepreneurs and to familiarise with the tools made available in Ticino and in the rest of Switzerland in support of those who plan to embark on an entrepreneurial career.

High School Students Discovering Informatics

From today until Wednesday, the group of students from Liceo Lugano 2 will take part in different projects under the guidance of USI’s researchers. The students will learn for example how to design a video game, write their first programme and they will also acquire basic knowledge to understand all dynamics that dominate the interaction between celestial bodies by bringing a small galaxy to life through the implementation of numerical integration for the approximation of ordinary differential equations.
