Al via l’USI Career Forum e il Master Info Day

"Your growth to success" è il motto che accomuna l'USI Career Forum e il Master Info Day, due appuntamenti ideati per sostenere studenti e laureati nelle proprie scelte di studio e carriera, con presentazioni dei Master biennali dell'USI e la presenza sul campus di Lugano di oltre 50 realtà professionali. Trait d’union tra questi due eventi saranno le Career Success Stories LIVE, che consistono nella testimonianza di trenta laureati che tornano nell’ateneo per parlare delle prospettive professionali di ciascuno dei master nelle presentazioni dei singoli programmi.

Oltre 50 stand, incontri one-to-one e presentazioni aziendali

La manifestazione organizzata dall'USI Career Service ha l'obiettivo di favorire l'incontro tra i giovani studenti e laureati che si affacciano al mondo del lavoro e le aziende. Nelle passate edizioni oltre 1000 studenti e laureati hanno preso parte ogni anno all'USI Career Forum. Giunto alla sua settima edizione, l’appuntamento concretizza l’attenzione che l’USI ha da sempre voluto riservare all’inserimento professionale dei propri laureati, favorendo la creazione di legami stretti tra ciò che viene insegnato in aula e le dinamiche del mondo lavoro.

Siete vicini alla scelta di un Master e volete comprenderne la struttura, gli sbocchi professionali e le modalità?

Venerdì avrete l'opportunità di orientarvi nella scelta dei percorsi di Master offerti dall'USI. Ogni programma sarà presentato dal proprio responsabile accademico, che si soffermerà sui contenuti, la struttura e l'organizzazione degli studi, senza dimenticare le prospettive professionali, anche grazie alla testimonianza diretta dei laureati. Sarà inoltre possibile trovare informazioni sull'offerta formativa della Scuola politecnica federale di Losanna (EPFL), dell'Institut Kurt Bosch e delle Università di Basilea, Lucerna e Neuchâtel.

Continua l'impegno di Harley-Davidson Club Ticino a sostegno degli studenti ticinesi più meritevoli

La cerimonia si terrà venerdì 7 marzo alle 11.00 di fronte all'entrata dell'edificio principale. I due studenti premiati, selezionati da una commissione secondo criteri di merito, riceveranno le borse di studio annuali di CHF 4'000.- alla presenza del Presidente dell'Harley-Davidson Club Ticino Augusto Marchi e del Segretario generale dell'USI Albino Zgraggen.

Venture Ideas 2014: fai conoscere la tua idea di business

Il corso avrà luogo giovedì 17 aprile alla SUPSI (campus di Trevano) ed è rivolto a studenti e dottorandi interessati al tema dell'imprenditorialità. Organizzata da CP Start-up, USI e SUPSI nell'ambito del programma federale CTI Entrepreneurship, l'iniziativa offre anche la possibilità agli studenti di candidare entro fine marzo il proprio progetto sotto forma di elevator pitch: le idee più meritevoli saranno presentate a una giuria di esperti, che premierà la migliore.

Aggiornamenti sulla partecipazione della Svizzera a Erasmus+

Per decisione della Commissione europea nell’anno accademico 2014-2015 la Svizzera non potrà partecipare al programma di scambio Erasmus+ alla pari con gli Stati UE, ma solo come Stato terzo. Questo statuto non permette agli studenti iscritti all'USI di accedere alle borse di studio europee Erasmus. Università svizzere e Confederazione stanno studiando soluzioni per compensare le restrizioni legate allo statuto di paese terzo e continuare a permettere agli studenti degli atenei svizzeri di trascorrere periodi di mobilità nell’UE. Aggiornamenti sulla partecipazione della Svizzera a Horizon 2020

La Commissione europea ha comunicato che nell’ambito della presentazione di progetti di ricerca per l’anno 2014 la Svizzera avrà lo statuto di paese terzo. Ciò significa che i ricercatori svizzeri possono ancora partecipare a progetti comuni, anche in veste di coordinatori (se determinate condizioni sono soddisfatte). Al contrario con questo statuto non è più possibile partecipare a progetti specifici (ERC e in parte Marie Curie). Il fatto che la Svizzera sia un paese terzo non comporterà discriminazioni nella valutazione dei progetti che contemplano un partner svizzero. The USI Career Forum and the Master Info Day get underway

"Your growth to success" is the motto that brings the USI Career Forum and the Master Info Day together. Two events designed to support students and graduates in their educational and career choice with an introduction to USI's two-year Masters and the presence on Campus of over 50 corporate stands. To tie the two events together the Career Succes Stories LIVE: thirty graduates will return on Campus to share their testimony on career opportunities for each USI’s Master during the individual programme presentation.

50 Stands, one-to-one Meetings and Company Presentations

The event organised by the USI Career Services has the objective to facilitate contact between companies and young students and graduates entering the business world. In the past, over 1000 students and graduates have taken part each year in the USI Career Forum. In its seventh year, the event embodies the attention that USI has always reserved to students’ professional placement, by encouraging strong ties between what is taught in the classroom and the dynamics of the business world.

Are you close to choosing your Master Degree and need Information about its Structure, Professional Prospective, and Content?

On Friday, there will be the chance to gather all information needed about the Master courses offered at USI. Each academic director will introduce its Master and tackle issues such as content, structure and study curricula and professional opportunities with the help of graduates’ testimonies. There will also be a unique chance to gather information about graduate courses offered at EPFL, Institute Kurt Bosch and Universities of Basel, Luzern and Neuchâtel.

The commitment of Harley-Davidson Club Ticino in support of the most deserving students of Ticino carries on

The scholarships award ceremony will be held on Friday, 7 March at 11 in front of the main building. Two students appointed by a commission, will receive a CHF 4,000 scholarships based on merit, in the presence of the President of Harley-Davidson Club Ticino Augusto Marchi and USI’s General Secretary Albino Zgraggen.

Venture Ideas 2014: promote your business idea

The lecture will be held on Thursday, 17 April at SUPSI (Trevano Campus) and is intended for undergraduate and graduate students interested in entrepreneurship. Organised by CP Start-up, USI and SUPSI in the framework of the federal programme CTI Entrepreneurship, the initiative also offers students the chance to submit by the end of March their project in the form of an elevator pitch: the most deserving ideas will be presented to a panel of experts that will award the best project.

Updates on the participation of Switzerland in Erasmus+

Upon decision of the European Commission, Switzerland will no longer be able to take part in the exchange programme Erasmus+ on an equal footing with member states for the academic year 2014-2015, but only as a third country. This statute will not allow registered USI students to participate in the Erasmus scholarships granted by the EU. All Swiss universities and the Confederation are investigating solutions to compensate for the restrictions related to the third country status, and carry on mobility in the European Union for all students of Swiss universities. Updates on the participation on Switzerland in Horizon 2020

The European Commission has announced that Switzerland will be handled as a third country in calls for project proposals for the year 2014. This means that researchers in Switzerland may continue to take part in the partnership projects even as coordinators (if conditions are met). However, Switzerland is no longer able to take part in individual projects (ERC and in part Marie Curie). The third party status will not however discriminate Switzerland during the evaluation of projects involving a Swiss partner.
