of Computational social science, which links computational and social sciences, will be discussed during a series of public conferences at USI. The events will be coordinated by Prof. Alessandro Lomi of the Faculty of Economics, and they will bring to Lugano Campus eight of the worldwide leading protagonists in this research area. 250 (Lugano Campus), with a lecture by Prof. Santo Fortunato of the Aalto University in Finland. >>> | | CONFERENCE | | USI as a cultural Bridge in the economic Analysis of Law On the initiative of USI’s Law Institute (IDUSI) and the “Brenno Galli” Chair for economic analysis of law, the IX annual conference of the Italian
Society of Law and Economics (ISLE) will be held on Lugano Campus, on 12 and 13 December. evening will be dedicated to a reflection on Niccolò Machiavelli's thinking. Carlo Ossola (director of the Institute of Italian Studies) and Maurizio Viroli (Institute of Public Communication) will analyse the relation between Machiavelli's Prince and Erasmo's Christian Prince. They will be guided by the question of whether the interpretation of Machiavelli's prince as an antichristian figure and of Erasmo's protagonist as first a Christian and then a sovereign man, is still tenable. >>> | | NEWS ON THE UNIVERSITY CAMPUSES | | USI adopts a new Type of white recycled Paper In the following weeks, a new corporate paper will be introduced at USI: a product that has received the best ecological certificates, 100% based on recycled paper. Without causing harm to the environment, our University goes back to white paper, benefiting from the
latest developments in this market. This will also give a new conformity to all types of printed products at USI. The change will occur progressively during the following weeks, until the reserves of the old paper will be exhausted. >>> | | A NOVEMBER DEDICATED TO MEN’S HEALTH | | Successful Fundraising for USI's Movember Group: thanks to everyone! USI’s
Movember network, composed of the Mo-USI team and the association L’USTi, has collected more than CHF 2,800 for the international campaign (CHF 800 more than what had been its initial objective). The money will be used for research against testicular and prostate cancer. Thus, USI’s network positions itself on place 8 out of 18. We remind you that it is still possible
