STEP prende il via all'USI con il caso Marchesi de' Frescobaldi, da 700 anni innovatore nell'industria del vino

STEP è un programma di ricerca internazionale sul tema dell'imprenditorialità e del passaggio generazionale al quale partecipano 43 università, oltre 200 ricercatori e un network globale di aziende. L'USI entra a farne parte grazie alle attività dell'Advanced Management Centre. Il primo appuntamento è per martedì 18 giugno alle 17.30 nell'Executive Centre del campus di Lugano, con un workshop che prevede la testimonianza di Lamberto Frescobaldi.

Convegno internazionale di studi sulla famiglia di artisti Mola

Il Convegno del 6 e 7 giugno (aula C3.89, Palazzo Canavée, campus di Mendrisio) si propone di approfondire aspetti biografici, stilistici e del contesto culturale degli architetti Giacomo e Giovanni Battista Mola e del pittore Pier Francesco Mola – esponenti di punta di una famiglia originaria di Coldrerio stabilitasi a Roma tra la fine del Cinquecento e gli inizi del Seicento.

Come accenderemo la luce nel 2050?

La chiusura entro il 2034 delle centrali nucleari svizzere decisa dal Consiglio federale chiede di ripensare le strategie di approvvigionamento di energia per colmare un "buco" pari al 40% degli attuali consumi. Oltre al potenziamento delle energie rinnovabili e a un miglioramento dell'efficienza degli apparecchi elettrici, ogni cittadino sarà chiamato a riflettere sui propri consumi. Un'indagine realizzata da L'ideatorio mostra atteggiamenti e percezioni dei cittadini in tema di energia.

Si chiamano Career Success Stories e raccontano il percorso professionale di ex studenti USI: come sono entrati nel mondo del lavoro, quali sono le qualità più richieste dal mercato, il valore aggiunto degli studi all'USI e i migliori consigli per i neolaureati. Sempre riguardo l’inserimento professionale dei nostri ex studenti, è partita anche la 10° indagine, l'USI Placement Survey 2013, che quest'anno si rivolge ai diplomati del 2007 e del 2011-12 (a 1 anno e a 5 anni dalla laurea).

Continua il cammino di SwissLeg, start-up nata all'USI

Il 1° giugno la start-up, che produce protesi gambali a prezzi accessibili anche nei Paesi più poveri, inaugurerà ufficialmente il suo nuovo centro a Irbid, Giordania, da dove sta collaborando con la Syrian Refugee Commission per aiutare i profughi della guerra civile siriana. E mentre è partito un progetto pilota anche con IOM Iraq per la regione del Maysan, Paulo Gonçalves, prof. USI e CEO di SwissLeg, è stato nominato capitano della nazionale svizzera delle start-up.

Nuovo premio creato dall'USI a favore degli sportivi maturandi

L'USI, attraverso il proprio Servizio sport, premierà con un riconoscimento personale tutti i maturandi che rientrano nelle liste di Aiuto Sport Ticino, così come chi figura nelle liste di voto del concorso "Miglior Sportivo Ticinese 2013". Il premio sarà consegnato in occasione della festa di premiazione del "Miglior Sportivo Ticinese" in programma a novembre.

STEP gets under way at USI with the case Marchesi de' Frescobaldi, wine industry innovators for over 700 years

STEP is an international research programme on entrepreneurship and generational transitions counting the participation of 43 universities, over 200 researchers and a global network of companies. USI comes to be part of the programme thanks to the activities of the Advanced Management Centre. The first workshop will take place on Tuesday, 18 June at 5.30pm in the Executive Centre of Lugano Campus, with the presence of Lamberto Frescobaldi.

International Conference on the Molas: a family of artists

Held on 6 and 7 June (room C3.89, Canavée Building, Mendrisio Campus) the conference aims at examining in depth biographical aspects, stylistic and cultural context of the architects Giacomo and Giovanni Battista Mola and the painter Pier Francesco Mola – leading exponents of a family from Coldrerio which then settled in Rome in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth century.

The encounter held on 20 June, linked to O-Tour researches, will take place in the Auditorium BancaStato in Bellinzona from 8am, with the aim of examining the challenges and opportunities of the Canton's tourist's organisation reform. Focusing on the four future destinations in Ticino, their common and distinctive characteristic aspects will be outlined, in relation to potential international and national competing destinations.

Curzio Maltese at USI: in case of impulsiveness, doubt

The renowned columnist for La Repubblica and author of several books on current Italian events will close the third series Here and now. Access to the present through literature and arts. The encounter will be held on Wednesday, 29 May at 8pm in the Auditorium (Lugano Campus) with the lecture entitled In case of impulsivess: doubt.

How will we turn on the Lights in 2050?

The shutdown of Swiss nuclear plants by 2034 determined by the Federal Council calls for new strategies in energy supply to fill the hole which equals to 40% of current consumption. In addition to the development of sustainable energy and the improvement of the efficiency of electrical appliances, every citizen will be called upon to reflect on his energy consumption. A survey conducted by the Ideatorio shows the attitude and perceptions of people on the subject of energy.

USI Graduates careers are now online and the 10th survey on job placement gets under way

They are called Career Success Stories and they narrate the professional path of former USI students: how they entered the business world, which are the qualities most sought after on the market, the added value of studying at USI and the best tips for new graduates. Still on the subject of our former students entering the business world, the 10th survey USI Placement Survey 2013 gets underway. This year is aimed at students who graduated in 2007 and 2011-12 (1 year and 5 years after graduation).

The Journey of USI's Startup SwissLeg continues

On 1 June the start-up, which designs leg prosthetics at prices affordable even for the poorest countries, will officially open its new centre in Irbid, Jordan, where it is cooperating with the Syrian Refugee Commission to help refugees of the civil war in Syria. While the pilot project with IOM Iraq for the region Maysan has kicked off, Paulo Gonçalves, USI professor and CEO of SwissLeg, has been nominated captain of the Swiss start-up team.

New USI's Prize for Athletes graduating from High School

Through its Sport Service, USI will give personal recognition to all high school graduates on the list Aiuto Sport Ticino, as well as those in the charts for "Best Athletes of Ticino 2013". The prize will be conferred on the occasion of the ceremony of "Ticino's Best Athlete" scheduled for November.
