Una cerimonia al teatro sociale di Bellinzona per festeggiare i 10 anni di attività dell'IRB e la sua affiliazione all'USI
L’Istituto di Ricerca in Biomedicina ha iniziato la sua attività nel 2000 con l’obiettivo di migliorare la comprensione dell’immunologia umana. In questi dieci anni l’IRB è cresciuto da 20 ad oltre 80 persone e lo scorso mese di aprile il Gran Consiglio ticinese ha approvato la sua affiliazione alla nostra università. Venerdì a partire dalle ore 17:00 al Teatro Sociale di Bellinzona avrà luogo una cerimonia per festeggiare entrambi gli avvenimenti, che vedrà la partecipazione di Giorgio Noseda (Presidente IRB), Antonio Lanzavecchia (Direttore IRB), Brenno Martignoni (Sindaco di Bellinzona), Gabriele Gendotti (Consigliere di Stato), Piero Martinoli (Presidente USI) e Mauro Dell'Ambrogio (Segretario di Stato per l'educazione e la ricerca). UNA CARRELLATA DI STAR INVADE L'ACCADEMIA

Il Production Design Contemporaneo: la “seconda scuola” di Cinecittà
Prende avvio il ciclo di incontri pubblici promossi da Marco Müller con alcuni tra i più celebri production designers italiani. I cineasti invitati parleranno delle proprie esperienze dialogando con Müller e rispondendo alle domande dei partecipanti. I racconti saranno accompagnati dalla proiezione dei bozzetti preparatori e dagli estratti dei film discussi. Si inizia con Marco Dentici, production designer (giovedì 4.11); si prosegue con Andrea Crisanti, production designer (giovedì 11.11); sarà poi la volta di Marco Bellocchio, regista, sceneggiatore e produttore, e Francesca Calvelli, montatrice (lunedì 6.12); si concluderà con il premio Oscar Dante Ferretti, production designer, accompagnato da Francesca Lo Schiavo, set decorator (giovedì 9.12).

TAVOLA ROTONDA ALL'USI PER IL 25° DELLA COMUNITÀ RADIOTELEVISIVA ITALOFONA

Alla ricerca dell'italiano e della cultura italiana nel mondo
Venerdì 5 novembre alle ore 14.00 in Auditorio (campus di Lugano) il noto scrittore e viaggiatore Paolo Rumiz terrà una relazione introduttiva intitolata "Le sensazioni di un viaggiatore italiano in giro per il mondo”. Seguirà una tavola rotonda animata dal giornalista Michele Fazioli alla quale parteciperà, insieme ad altri personaggi provenienti da diverse parti del mondo, la docente del nostro Istituto di studi italiani Mira Mocam.

ANNIVERSARY

Celebrating IRB's 10 years of activity and recent affiliation with USI at the Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona
The Institute for Research in Biomedicine launched its activities in 2000 with the goal of improving the understanding of human immunology. In this past decade, IRB has grown from 20 to more than 80 people, and last April, the Gran Consiglio of Ticino approved the affiliation with our University. Friday at 5pm, a ceremony to celebrate these milestones will take place at the Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona. Participants will include Giorgio Noseda (President, IRB), Antonio Lanzavecchia (Director, IRB), Brenno Martignoni (Mayor of Bellinzona), Gabriele Gendotti (Consigliere di Stato), Piero Martinoli (President, USI) and Mauro Dell'Ambrogio (State Secretary for Education and Research). A LONG LINE OF STARS FLOCKS TO THE ACADEMY

Contemporary Production Design: Cinecittà's “second school”
A series of public talks by Marco Müller, featuring some of the most celebrated Italian production designers, starts soon. The speakers will share their own experiences, engaging in conversation with Müller and responding to participants' questions. The talks will be complemented by screenings of clips from the films in discussion. Kicking off the events, the featured speaker will be Marco Dentici (Thursday, Nov. 4), followed by Andrea Crisanti (Thursday, Nov. 11), both production designers. The series continues with Marco Bellocchio, director, screenwriter and producer, and Francesca Calvelli, editor (Monday, Dec. 6). The series concludes with Oscar winner Dante Ferretti, production designer, accompanied by Francesca Lo Schiavo, set decorator, on Thursday, Dec. 9.

Lugano Sustainability Forum 2010
AIESEC, the largest student association in the world, is an international platform enabling students to discover and develop their own potential, with the goal of having a positive impact on society. In this effort, AIESEC Lugano will hold a conference to explore the importance of sustainability in business, both in terms of its impact on professional careers, as well as society. The events will take place at USI (Lugano Campus) and at Franklin College starting today and running through November 4. More information and sign-up.

 


ROUND TABLE AT USI FOR THE 25th ANNIVERSARY OF THE COMUNITÀ RADIOTELEVISIVA ITALOFONA

Spotlight on Italian language and culture throughout the world
Friday, November 5, at 2pm in Auditorium (Lugano Campus) the notable writer and traveller Paolo Rumiz will hold an introductory talk entitled, "The impressions of an Italian world traveller". A round table led by journalist Michele Fazioli will follow, with participation from Mira Mocam, lecturer at our Institute of Italian Studies, as well as various guests from around the world.
